As a business development executive involved in major and minor league professional sports and intercollegiate athletics, Jason Siegel has enjoyed 27 years of success and accomplishments. Currently in his third season as the Orlando Solar Bears President/CEO/Alternate Governor, the Solar Bears organization was recognized by the ECHL in 2013 as the recipients of the League’s “Award of Excellence” under his leadership. While managing the team’s relationship with both NHL and AHL affiliates, Siegel oversees the business and hockey operations and serves on the ECHL’s Executive Board of Governors.
Although Siegel has invested his life in a variety of sports, hockey rises to the top in his enthusiasm and experience. He has served as Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Community Development for the New Jersey Devils (2000-2007), and the East Coast Hockey League (1997-2000). During his tenure with the Early Hockey Executive Experience (1990-97), Siegel served as Vice President of the Phoenix Roadrunners (LA Kings affiliate); Director of Licensing for the relocated Dallas Stars (from Minnesota); and Vice President of Sales and Marketing of the Binghamton Rangers (NY Rangers affiliate).
His career in sports began as a sophomore at Binghamton University, while working in the Athletics department as a part of his hockey internship (1987-1990). Siegel also served as Senior Associate Athletic Director (2007-2011), where he was also co-Executive Director of the department’s Athletics Board. During Siegel’s tenure, the school scored record breaking attendance numbers and fundraised dollars.
Siegel was born and raised in Philadelphia, and since moving to Orlando has invested his time and efforts in our community. His local involvement in Central Florida includes serving on the Board of Directors of several organizations, including the Community Food & Outreach Center; the American Heart Association of Orlando; and the Boy Scouts of America/Central Florida Council.
